Kits Kitty Care Policies

1. Hours: Visits can be scheduled for any day of the year.

2. Reservations: Book your kitty care visit early. Summer, long weekends, Christmas and Spring Breaks are very busy times. If you wait until the last minute, we may not be able to accommodate you.

3. Initial Consultation Visit: All first time clients are required to book an Initial Consultation Visit before the booking can be confirmed. The Initial Consultation Visit takes about 30 minutes. This is your opportunity to introduce the Kits Kitty Care visitor to your kitty and explain your kitty’s preferences. This is the time when we will review and sign the Care Agreement, and you will give us your keys and your deposit.

4. Special Needs Kitties: If your kitty requires medication, a trial-run visit must be completed before your trip. This will allow you to explain and demonstrate administration of your kitty’s medication, and ensures that we fully understand your instructions. There is a $20 fee for the Trial-Run Visit.

5. Rates: $25.00 for one 30 minute visit each day
                $35.00 for two visits on the same day
                Each additional 15 minutes on a given visit is $4.50 extra

6. Payment: Payment is by cash or cheque. We cannot accept credit cards or debit cards.
If the total charge for your kitty’s care is under $100, the entire amount is due when the Service Agreement is signed.

If the total charge for your kitty’s care is $100 or more, a 50% deposit is due when the Service Agreement is signed. This "holds your kitty’s spot." The balance is due on the first day that care begins by cheque or cash. If payment for the balance is not provided on the first day of the assignment, a 15% late payment fee will be added.

7. Refunds: Because we may have turned away other clients who requested care at the same time, your deposit is non-refundable. If you do need to cancel your trip, we will provide credit for future visits provided you give us a minimum of 5 days notice.

8. Keys: Kits Kitty Care requires 2 keys before you leave. One key is kept in the possession of the Kits Kitty Care visitor; the other key is kept locked in the Kits Kitty Care office in case of an emergency. For example: If the usual Kits Kitty Care visitor was unable to make the visit because of sudden illness or accident, another Kits Kitty Care visitor would be able to get the spare keys from the office, and complete all the scheduled visits. If you don’t have a second key at that time, you can leave the second key on the counter so we can pick it up on the first visit.

If you cannot give us a key at the time the Service Agreement is signed, an $8 Key Pick-Up fee will be charged.

We do not accept the keys from anyone other than the client, and will not accept them from a "hiding place".

If you have new keys made, please try all them in the lock before you give them to us!

9. Kits Kitty Care Key Program: If you require frequent kitty sitting, you can join our Frequent Care Key Program. This means that Kits Kitty Care will keep your keys between care periods so that neither of us has to arrange for repeated key exchanges.
Each request for a Frequent Care booking must be made in writing. Please email the details of your request including the date and time that you will leave, the date and time you will return, and an out-of-town contact number. This ensures mutual understanding of dates and times, and guarantees care for your kitty.

Frequent Care Payment by post-dated cheque must be received by Kits Kitty Care prior to your departure. Please note that the booking is not final until we have confirmed your request and receipt of your payment by return email.
